Batman Begins (2005)

Batman begins is one of the most fascinating movies of 2005. It is the perfect blend of origin tale, crime thriller and action. The movie is based on the story of a boy named Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) who after the death or murder of his parents (Thomas and Martha Wayne, the owner of Wayne Enterprises) transformed himself to a batman (superhero) to seek justice against criminals.

The question arises what makes this movie unique? “Batman begins” sets the new standard for how the super hero comic book movie should well begin. The film distanced itself so drastically from the previous iteration through its characters. A young Bruce Wayne after his parents were slain in front of his eyes, travels to the far East. Where he is trained in the martial arts by mentor Ra’s Al Gul (Ken Watanabe). Ra’s Al Gul teaches him how to fight against evil. After his training he returned to Gotham (hometown) and with the help of Alfred (Michael Cane) his loyal butler and Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), a tech expert at Wayne Enterprises, batman was born.

When he returns to Gotham he became totally a new person who has power to fight against criminals. He adopts the image of a bat to strike fear into the criminals. Now question arises why “bats”? When he was 8-year-old he accidentally fell into a well shaft. He screamed as he was swarmed by bats when they darkened the air and flew upward. This became a recurring nightmare for 28-year-old Bruce Wayne.

The most motivating part of this movie is that how Bruce converts his weaknesses into his strengths. The people who have seen THE DARK KNIGHT must watch THE BATMAN BEGINS too because it is the first part and it would help them to understand the reason behind batman character and how Gordon and Batman got to where they are. Batman has proved that comic book movies can be highly entertaining viewing. I strongly recommend the entertainment lovers to watch it.
